Learning to Read

Hello form Children House 2. We are learning to read by using our site words for this week. We colored our books and took them home to read with our parents at home. We focused on the letter D this week , we where able to identify words with the letter D , we also traced a lower and upper case D. We also learning to match things that rhyme and we did a great job. We read books about the universe and the planets around us. We enjoyed playing outdoors with the great weather we are having. Have a great weekend !

The Solor System

Hello from Children House 1. What a great week for learning with lots of fun too! We had a blast learning about the solar system and all the planets our favorite was Saturn with all its rings around it . We also had a great time building with our blocks and sharing puzzles. We enjoyed reading books at story time. Outdoor play was filled with sunshine and the warm air. We had a great week. Next week we will learn out the universe and the big world around us. Have a great weekend.

Art Is So much Fun

Hello form the Toddler classroom . We had a fun week filled with lots of learning and fun. We reviewed all our colors this week and our shapes. We also reviewed the days of the week and month of the year. We also enjoyed all the art work we did this week, our favorite was wishing upon a star where we used our fingers to make the stars with washable paint. We also had lots of outdoor play this week with all the sunshine and great weather we had. Next week we will be working on learning how to count till 20 and learning about the weather and seasons.

Practice makes Perfect

Hello from The Children’s House 2. We had a week full of fun and learning. We are learning and still practicing how to trace letter ,numbers, shapes and our name till its perfect and we don’t need the lines to write any more. We also continued learning the month of the year and days of the week in Spanish and English. We played a new game this week Jenga and we tried to beat Miss Tameka but she still the champ. The game Jenga helps the children with their fine motor skills , problem solving and logical reasoning. We also enjoyed playing outside and loved watching the snow on Wednesday. Greeting from Children’s House 1! This week we learned to compare sizes in similar objects. We are learning how to recognize numbers 1-10 and practice our counting throughout the day. Together , we welcomed the first day of spring and talked about how rain is important to help the plants grow. It’s been a week full of practicing on colors, shapes and numbers, and every week we are expanding that knowledge through songs, playtime and random practice. We are looking forward to next week and are hoping for some sun shiny days!

St Patrick Day

Hello form Children House 2. We had a great week filled with lots of learning and fun. We learned all about St, Patrick’s day and why we celebrate and we had our celebration in our classroom on Friday. We also learned about the weather and the changes that happen when spring starts,we know that next week on the 20th is the first day of spring. We continue to learn how to write and recognize our names, letters and number. We worked in groups on our puzzles and building blocks that our favorite work cycle. We are learning our shapes and color in Spanish also this week. Till next week when we will learn more with lots of fun.

Shapes and Colors

Greeting from Children House 1 ! This week we learned about matching shapes and colors. The weather kept us indoors most of the beginning of this week, but we didn’t let that get us down as we spend our days building with blocks and singing songs about color and the days of the week. We read lots of books and drew on work sheets that help us learn how to match alike shapes. We are having our Saint Patrick day celebration of Friday. We are looking forward to next week and all the adventure it will hold.

Caterpillars and Buttterflies

Caterpillars and butterflies was our theme for this week. We learned that a caterpillar goes into a cocoon and then turns into a beautiful butterfly and what they eat in all stages of it life. We focused on the letter E this week. We also counted and add by 1, and 5’s . We also enjoyed sharing and talking about our show and tells. We continue to trace our names, shapes and numbers. We love story time and playing musical chairs on Fun Fridays. Next week we learn and celebrate all about ST Patrick’s day.

The Sun and Moon

Hello form the Children House 1! This week we learned about the sun and moon. We learned that the sun keeps us warm and that we can find it during the day. We also learned that the moon reflects the sun’s light and that we find it at night. We played outside when the weather permitted, when we could not go outside we stayed indoors to draw, read books, sing songs and build with the many types of blocks we have. It has been a fun week filled with learning and hope for more sunny days next week as we continue to learn and grow.

Dr Seuss

Hello for Children House 2. We celebrated Dr Seuss Birthday and read lots of his books. To celebrate Dr Seuss birthday we will be eating green eggs from our favorite story. During writing and reading time we focused on the Letter D , we traced and found words that start with the letter D. We continued learning the months and days of the week in Spanish. We worked in groups on different puzzles. Miss Danni our music teacher taught new songs and new dance moves. On the playground we played with our teacher ball and throw around the Frisbee. We had an awesome week and can’t wait to learn more while having fun next week. Have great weekend!
