The Sun and Moon

Hello form the Children House 1! This week we learned about the sun and moon. We learned that the sun keeps us warm and that we can find it during the day. We also learned that the moon reflects the sun’s light and that we find it at night. We played outside when the weather permitted, when we could not go outside we stayed indoors to draw, read books, sing songs and build with the many types of blocks we have. It has been a fun week filled with learning and hope for more sunny days next week as we continue to learn and grow.

Finger for Counting

Greeting from the Children House 1! This week we learned how we can use our fingers for counting, for holding objects, for high fiving and for waving good-bye or hello. We worked on our shapes and color recognition as we drew more pictured this week, we learned how to match on shape to another. At circle time we talked about our favorite foods and sang songs about colors, days of the week and our class favorite ” if your happy and you know it”. It has been a fun and productive week and we cannot wait to see what next week has in store.

Drawing Shapes

Greeting from Children house 1 What a beautiful week it has been! The weather was warm and kind so we spend extra time outside this week. Miss Tameka brought lots of extra toys for the playground that we all loved playing with and sharing. We learned about shapes and how to draw them, and getting very good at drawing circles. We continued to learn about colors and daily identify different objects and the name of their colors. At music class, Miss Danni showed us how to use shakers to follow the beat of the music. We are looking forward towards next week for more days filled with learning and fun.

The Colors of the Rainbow

Greetings from Children House 1! This week we learned about the colors of the rainbow. We sang songs about the rainbow., and we played games that helped us identify each color. We played outside extra long while the weather was warm. While inside we worked on puzzles ,sang our favorite songs . It has been a fun week full of learning, and we and learned about sharing with friends. It has been a week full of learning, and we looking forward to our Valentine’s Day Celebration next week!

Days of the Week

Greeting from Children House 1!This week we learned about the days of the week. We played with colorful cut outs of each day and sang songs to help us learn every day and the order they come in. We also drew a lot , we drew whatever we wanted and also on special sheets that taught us how to draw shapes. Since a new month started this week, we had help writing our names on paper hearts to put on our February board to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Tuesday was especially fun as we met our new music teacher, we sang songs, danced and had lots of fun while learning

This week we talked about Columbus Day and the subject for this week was farms and farmer’s. For art and crafts consisted of us making a boat that Columbus sailed on using our handprints.,we made Sally the cow using paper plates and we made pigs in the mud from brown construction paper and 2 pink crayons. We also did a hand on project pigs in the mud by using chocolate pudding and animal crackers. We are also working on our own name recognition and our friends name too. During math time we used the adding rods to learn how to count by 5’s and 10’s.

We had a wonderful week learning about the “Colors Of The Wind”. Our week started with the children learning about the wind and what makes the wind blow. We also learned what month of the year the wind blows the strongest and what affects the wind to blow. For arts and crafts we made wind socks and created paper kites. During yoga class we pretended we were birds flying through a wind storm what fun times we had . We had a great week of fun and learning.

What a short week we had in children House this week! This week our theme: Stars and Stripes. The children has a great time in art making red, white and blue sun catchers. In our geography section the children learned about the American flag. What a blast the children had with our science project. We explored the color of red, white and blue, with color mixing. In Language section the children learned the sounds the letter “S” makes and the tried to identify words that start with the letter S. In math the children practiced counting stars and stripes on the American flag. Music and movement time was awesome the children sang and danced to This Old Flag.

What fun we had this week Children House . Our theme this week was Lions, Tiger, and Bears Oh My! The children enjoyed making paper plate lions, tiger masks, and paper bag bear puppets. In geography the children were excited to learn the origins of the lions, tigers and bears. In our science lesson the children learned the life cycle of these animals. Have a Happy 4Th of July.

This has been a wonderful week! Summer fun has begun. This week our Theme was Zoo Animals. The children enjoyed painting animal masks, as well as building a zoo. The children were excited to learn were different animals come from. The children also enjoyed making hand print art for Father day. We also enjoyed Yoga and our them this week was Going To The Jungle.
